Rotterdam Passenger List: Notes and Sources
compiled by Joe Beinemain page | scans | steerage passengers
NotesThe German and Bavarian passengers onboard the Rotterdam were compared with the list in Glazier and Filby's Germans to America, Vol. 54, pp. 325-6. Any apparent discrepancies are given after the individual passenger's listing, using the abbreviation "GtoA." The three Swiss passengers (354, 356, 357), and the ten French passengers (15, 16, 324-331) are also included in the Germans to America list.
The Italian passengers were compared with the list in Glazier and Filby's Italians to America, Vol. 2, p. 398. Any apparent discrepancies are given after the individual passenger's listing, using the abbreviation "ItoA."
Despite the presence of 19 Russian passengers, this ship list is absent from Ira Glazier's Migration from the Russian Empire. It should have been included in Vol. 3, which covers May 1886-Dec 1887.
